Police in Rhode Island believe a body pulled from a river on Tuesday could be that of missing Bryn Mawr manSunil Tripathi.
The coach of the crew team at Brown University, where Tripathi was a student, discovered the body in the Providence River around 6 p.m., The Boston Globe reports. A top police official told the paper it is “very possible” the body is the missing college student.
Tripathi, 22, has been missing since mid-March.
Last week, as investigators searched for the Boston Marathon bombers, speculation was rampant on social media sites that Tripathi was one of the two individuals on surveillance video and images released by the FBI to aid the massive manhunt.
Federal authorities have since charged Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, in the terror attack. His older brother, Tamerlan, also a suspect, was killed in a firefight with police.
