Philly MC Meek Mill was sentenced to between three and six months after Common Pleas Court Judge Genece Brinkley found he violated his probation by not getting permission before booking out-of-town concerts and Tweeting lousy things about his prosecutor and probation officer. One fact lost in the prison news was Mill announcing a Sept. 9 release for his sophomore album, “Dreams Worth More Than Money.” Its first single is “I Don’t Know.” Mill also jumped onto Twitter for a feud with his labelmate Wale and had one last fling at Delilah’s gentlemen’s club before hitting jail.
Two high-profile Philly Kickstarters are closing soon, with another just starting. Joshua O’Neill’s Locust Moon Comics’ crowd-funded “Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream,” featuring 100 cartoonists paying tribute to “Nemo” illustrator Winsor McCay, met its $50,000 goal with $102,961 and time to spare. Chef Michael Solomonov and Bill Golderer’s Rooster Soup Co. charitable chicken stock operation has $111,857 pledged of its $150,000 goal with a week-plus left.
Then there’s the Kickstarter campaign for Gary Ducket Pickles, created in part by Pizza Brain’s Brian “Brain” Dwyer, who you can now call Brine. “We desperately want to dedicate our energy to giving Philly a pickle company it can firmly believe in,” Dwyer writes.
“Mob Wives” co-star Alicia DiMichele may not be on the VH-1 reality series’ next season, but she’s still making headlines. The New York Daily News reported she’ll pay $40,000 in Brooklyn federal court to Teamsters Local 282 for embezzling funds while doing the books for her currently jailed husband Edward “Tall Guy” Garofalo Jr. — which might be tied to the rumor DiMichele is selling or closing one of her Addiction Boutique stores, either Cherry Hill or South Philly, due to a mix of money woes and wanting to be closer to her family.

• World Cafe Live’s Free at Noon welcomed onetime locals Kevin and Michael Bacon — the Bacon Brothers — who played tunes from their upcoming “36 Cents” album and hung with the kids of Live Connections, WCL owner Hal Real’s educational nonprofit music mentorship program. The Bacons were spotted hanging out at Hotel Palomar, where they stayed.
• While “Top Chef” Nick Elmi of East Passyunk’s lauded Laurel and host Mike Jerrick looked on, Brewery Ommegang’s HopChef event at Union Transfer crowned Ben Puchowitz of Cheu Noodle Bar its Top Hop. Chad Vetter of City Tap House took home the people’s choice award.
