Boldface Nov. 25: A.D. Amorosi rounds up the local gossip

Rapper Beanie Sigel is performing again after two years away, with his first big Philly gig slated for Dec. 18 at TLA. He was released from prison in August after serving time for tax evation and narcotics possession, and then went to a halfway house to aid his transition into society. His last album, “This Time,” was released on Philly’s Ruffhouse label hours after his 2012 arrest. No word on if a new album is forthcoming.

Christopher Roney — aka Cool C, a onetime Ruffhouse rapper — is scheduled to be executed Jan. 8 for the 1996 murder of Lauretha Vaird, the first female Philadelphia police officer slain in the line of duty. Two accomplices in the robbery and murder, Warren McGlone (Steady B) and Mark Canty, were sentenced to life without parole. Vaird was posthumously honored with a Boys and Girls Club in Feltonville in her name.

On a more positive note, there’s rumor of a March 2015 release for Meek Mill’s new album, “Dreams Worth More Than Money” — pushed back from September due to his incarceration.

Carla Hall of “The Chew” hosted a cooking demo at the Navy Yard in support of the American Diabetes Association’s “America Gets Cooking to Stop Diabetes.” Chefs Guillermo Pernot, Delilah Winder and Barbie Marshall helped out, making healthier versions of classic Thanksgiving dishes. The ADA will also host an charity auction at Dave & Buster’s on Nov. 29 — bid on signed Philadelphia Flyers memorabilia.

• Philadelphia-born basketball-playing twin brothers Marcus and Markieff Morris had Thanksgiving early when mom Angel Morris booked the Power Plant in Old City for her sons and their teammates, the Phoenix Suns.

• Alex Holly of Fox29’s “Good Day Philadelphia” emceed the Little Smiles’ Stars Ball at the Please Touch Museum. Little Smiles raises money for kids in local hospitals, shelters and hospices.
