A Northeast Philadelphia school was evacuated on the first day of classes in response to a bomb threat, authorities said.
Students emptied out of Baldi Middle School, located on Verree Road, at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after the school received phone call threats, police said. Officers searched the building and found nothing, and the threats were determined not to be credible, according to investigators.
Police said an 11-year-old girl was taken into custody. No further information was provided.
A spokesperson for the School District of Philadelphia confirmed the incident but provided no additional details.
