A teenager has been charged with murder after a 12-year-old boy was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in West Oak Lane, investigators said.

Officers responded just after 12:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of E. Pastorius Street, where they found the child — identified Sunday as Ethan Parker — with a gunshot wound to the chest, authorities said. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center and died a short time later, according to the PPD.

A 17-year-old boy, who was allegedly inside the house where the shooting happened, has been charged with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and related crimes, police said Sunday. Authorities have not released his name.

Police told television crews at the scene that Ethan was with other young people filming a music video that incorporated at least one real firearm, along with BB and fake guns. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Through May 8, three youth under the age of 18 had been killed in shootings, compared to seven at this time last year, according to the Philadelphia Center for Gun Violence Reporting’s dashboard.
