Boyfriend arrested in connection with Temple University student’s death

Philadelphia police have made an arrest in the death of a 21-year-old Temple University student who was first thoughtto have killed herself.

The victim’s boyfriend,Brandon Meade, 29, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant in an unrelated case at his home in Upper Darby after the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Agatha Hall’sdeath could not have been a suicide.

He was expected to be arraigned late Wednesday.

Police were called to Hall’s first-floor apartment on the 2300 block of North Park Avenuejust after midnight on Aug. 31, where they found Hall dead of a gunshot wound to the head.

A 9mm handgun was found under her body.

A police spokeswoman said Meade told officers that Hall shot herself in the head.

Hall majored in finance and also worked as a shift manager at Wawa, according to LinkedIn. She was a 2011 graduate of Northeast High School.

Temple University said they have made counseling available to Hall’s friends.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and everyone who knew her,” Temple Dean of Students Stephanie Ives said in a statement.
