Bring the spa to your home with these beauty recipes from Borgata

Just because we are all social distancing at home doesn’t mean we can’t pamper ourselves a bit.

If you’re missing the spa, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City has you covered. The popular oceanside destination has unveiled some at-home beauty treatments created by the teams at Spa Toccare and Immersion Spa that can be made with items you might already have in your pantry. Here are just a few treatments to try at home and truly treat yourself.

I’ll Take Suds With That Please
Take your shower or tub time up a notch with Borgata’s recipe for a nourishing shower gel or bubble bath.

Ingredients: 1/3 cup of castile soap, 1/3 cup of honey and 1/3 cup of coconilla oil.

Method: Mix ingredients together and wash away.

Benefits according to Borgata: The moisturizing oils combined with the anti-oxidant properties of honey will nourish and protect your skin.

All Eyes On You Eye Cream
This cream is one you never knew you needed, and its benefits will do wonders to revive the skin underneath your eyes.

Ingredients: 3 slices of avocado and 5 drops of almond oil.

Method: Blend all the ingredients together into a smooth paste and then apply generously beneath the eye using the cushions of your ring finger. Starting at the inner corner of each eye, gently swipe the eye cream across the lower eye socket toward the temple making circular motions to nourish the fine lines.

Benefits according to Borgata: Avocados, when ingested, provide our bodies with healthy, good fats, which makes it the perfect ingredient to use to plump fine lines and nourish the delicate skin around the eyes. Combine all the goodness of avocados with the power of almond oil to reduce fine lines, renew skin cells, and keep your baby blues, (or browns or greens) looking and feeling super hydrated and refreshed.

Sugar Face Facial
Everyone could use a facial every now and again—and being stuck safe at home is the perfect opportunity to go ahead to try to make your own.

Ingredients: 1 tbsp of coconut oil and 2 tbsp of sugar.

Method: Mix ingredients and then gently massage over your skin in circular motions for 60 seconds. Rinse to finish.

Benefits according to Borgata: The fine texture of sugar combined with the coconut oil’s deep moisturizing properties will rapidly hydrate, replenish lost vitamins, and shield your skin from moisture loss. The best part? You can make this in advance and store up to three months in the refrigerator. This treatment can transform dull, dry skin into a youthful radiant glow any time of the year.

New Skin Reveal With Our Banana Peel
This facial treatment only takes 60 seconds, but the benefits are here to last.

Ingredients: 1 ripe banana, 1 tbsp of brown sugar and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla.

Method: Mix ingredients together but still avoid mixing too much, as it will thin out the recipe. Apply and allow to set for about one minute, then gently massage over the skin in circular motions. Rinse to finish.

Benefits according to Borgata: Besides making your skin glow, brown sugar helps regenerate the skin cells and make your skin lively. Add antioxidant bananas to the mix for added vitamin C, this peel is fabulous as a skin conditioner.

About Face Purifying Pads
Making your own detoxifying and purifying face wipes has never been quite this easy.

Ingredients: ¼ cup of water, ¼ cup of castile soap, ½ tsp of coconut oil, ¼ tsp of vitamin E oil (capsule), 5 drops of essential oil, 20 cotton rounds and 1 small airtight container.

Method: Pour all the ingredients in the airtight container, mix well, then place cotton rounds into the container 2 to 3 at a time to absorb face wash evenly. Keep container closed tight when not in use.

Benefits according to Borgata: These pre-made purifying pads will not only remove makeup, dirt and debris from the surface of your skin, the coconut oil and vitamin E will also nourish your skin while simultaneously deeply cleansing your pores.
