Rain and a somewhat chilly Sunday did not keep runners away from the 43rd edition of the Broad Street Run.
City officials said more than 28,000 people participated in the 10-mile course, which runs from Logan to the stadium district in South Philadelphia.
“I was thrilled to celebrate runners’ return to Broad Street for Philadelphia’s iconic road race,” Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement. “Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made it possible, and congratulations to all of our 2023 runners.”
Several competitors — first place male, female and non-binary finishers — broke course records. The run included a non-binary category for the first time.
