Bucksco resident chases, shoots would-be thief

A tip to thieves: Don’t try to burglarize a car while the owner is watching.

That’s what happened early Thursday morning, when a Bucks County resident watched a man stealing items from his car, which was parked outside his residence at Woodland Manor Apartments in Morrisville, 6ABC and NBC10 reported.

The unidentified resident confronted the would-be thief, who jumped into another car and sped off. The homeowner got into a car and chased the suspect just before 5:30 a.m.

About a mile away, at East Bridge and North Pennsylvania avenues, the suspect crashed his vehicle on the sidewalk and jumped out. The resident also got out of his vehicle and fired a weapon twice, striking the suspect in the arm, police said.

The suspect was taken to the hospital and is in custody. Police are still investigating the incident.
