Bull escapes Philly slaughterhouse, runs down highway before being shot

In what Philadelphia police are describing as an “unusual incident,” a bull escaped certain death in a Kensington slaughterhouse only to be shot dead half an hour later after trotting down Interstate 95.

The bull successfully fled onto two Philadelphia highways before he was shot by Animal Control officers.

No humans were injured during the bull run which spanned about 30 minutes.

Around 2 p.m., the bull escaped a slaughterhouse on the 2100 block of Hancock Street.

The fugitive bull somehow found its way to I-95.From there it connected at the highway interchange with I-676, before exiting the highway on Seventh Street between Vine and Franklin streets.

It was shot there by Pennsylvania Game Commission officers, at around 2:29 p.m. according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

“The bull is deceased,” a police report stated. “No injuries to police or civilians.”
