Cannabis Industry Power Players – Senator Sharif Street, Pennsylvania State Senate

Meet Senator Sharif Street, who represents Philadelphia’s third senate district. Senator Street talks to us about his road towards his involvement in the cannabis space; how the issue of cannabis grew out of his involvement in the criminal justice reform. Most recently, Senator Street advanced a safe cannabis banking bill, which lays the basis for patients to use insurance to get their cannabis. Furthermore, the bill allows cannabis businesses access to insurers and financial institutions. In the future, Senator Street hopes for the state-wide legalization of adult-use cannabis and a thriving, diverse market.
