Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle, struck a teenage victim and then fled the scene on foot Wednesday night.
At around 9 p.m., Kevin Rican Maldonado,18, was crossing Old York Road at Luzerne Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood when a white Toyota Prius struck him, NBC10 reported. The driver, who investigators have described as a heavyset woman with long hair and wearing a dress, stopped the vehicle on the 1300 block of West Pike Street and fled the scene on foot.
Maldonado was taken to Temple University Hospital, suffering severe head injuries. He died a short time after. He was a junior at Edison High School.
