Who doesn’t love a hot and fresh donut, especially when there’s a deal?
This Friday, June 6, is National Donut Day, and Philadelphia is full of tasty deals. This year, there are plenty of places offering delicious discounts on everything from the classics to crullers, fritters, and beignets. Here are the top places in and around Philly to celebrate the holiday.
The Bakery
The Bakery, South Philly‘s charming neighborhood café, is celebrating National Donut Day by giving back to the community and beyond with a couple of specials for those who stop by.
Opening at 7 a.m., the first 50 people to visit will receive free donuts. The Bakery will follow up on that deal by offering $1 donuts with the purchase of coffee until they close at 2 p.m. or until they sell out. The Bakery offers a wide selection of classic and new-school creations, including a variety of crullers, all of which will be available as part of their celebration.
“It’s important for me to give back to this neighborhood, and every person who has shown us support over the past year – and what better way to say ‘thank you’ than with free donuts?” said Rocco Weiss, Philadelphia native, pizza maker and owner of The Bakery. “We hope to meet new faces in addition to our friends and neighbors on National Donut Day, and hope that from that day on, we can continue to build and strengthen our relationships with this community.”
While at The Bakery, don’t forget to try the café’s coffee creations, which range from familiar items like Americanos, matcha lattes, chai lattes, and cappuccinos to their seasonally crafted signature sips, which currently include their Vietnamese Latte, Thin Mint Latte, Banana Chai, and Matcha Einspänner.
Then there are the Sicilian pies that The Bakery is also known for. Each week, Weiss, along with the Bakery crew, hosts “Friday Pizza Nights,” where a menu of four styles of Sicilian pizza pies is available for dine-in and takeaway. The Bakery’s pizza menu drops on Thursdays at noon via Instagram, but get them while they’re hot because these pies sell out in a short window.

Dunkin’
Of course, Dunkin’ is celebrating National Donut Day. But this year, donuts aren’t just a treat—they’re a lifestyle. This Friday, June 6, Dunkin’ is offering a free donut with any beverage purchase. What’s more is that Dunkin’ is teaming up with Stoney Clover Lane, the luxury lifestyle and accessories brand, to debut a limited-edition collaboration inspired by the ultimate duo—coffee and donuts.
The limited-edition collection will be available online starting Friday, June 6 at 10 a.m. ET on stoneycloverlane.com and features The Dunkin’ Donut Pouch ($78), a double-sided donut pouch, featuring the strawberry frosted with sprinkles donut on each side; Dunkin’ Iced Coffee & Donut Bag Charms ($48 each), an Iced Coffee Bag Charm topped with a mini donut and a Donut Bag Charm featuring a strawberry sprinkled donut; and Dunkin’ Patches ($18 each), a set of four Dunkin’-inspired collectible patches, including a “I ‘Heart’ Dunkin’” patch, an Iced Coffee patch, a Sprinkle Donut patch, and a Box O’ Donuts patch.

Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme is celebrating not just on National Donut Day, but for two weeks beginning this Friday, June 6. It all starts with the big day itself, when all guests can receive any doughnut of choice for free in honor of the holiday. Not only that, but guests can receive a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for just $2 with the purchase of any dozen at regular price at participating Krispy Kreme shops.
Beginning Saturday, Krispy Kreme will offer “14 Days of Original Glazed” through June 20, where Krispy Kreme Rewards members can receive a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $9.99. On Friday, June 13, all guests can receive a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for 13 cents with the purchase of any dozen at regular price.
Finally, on June 20, the first day of summer, Krispy Kreme will offer a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $2 with the purchase of any regularly priced dozen.
