On Saturday, Sept. 24, Boathouse Row will be hosting Fairmount Park in a New Light — a free street festival to celebrate their lighting system, which received upgrades in July.
Acting Chief of Staff for Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) Jennifer Crandall noted:
“With the Democratic National Convention quickly approaching, PPR worked tirelessly to replace the worn-out components of the 2005 system with help of a very generous private donor so that one of Philadelphia’s most iconic landmarks would shine in all of its glory for the DNC, and hopefully, for years to come.”
PPR, in partnership with Fairmount Park Conservancy, wasresponsible for the upgrade and will now team up with the Schuylkill Navy to host this free street festival and light show.
You don’t need to register to attend — just show up for an evening of fun! Attendees will enjoy live music from DJ Reed Streets and Hurry, a local band. There will also be drinks from Parks on Tap and food from Cosmic Cafe.
