We could all use a little fresh air. And Philadelphia has just the place.
This Friday, March 5, the Cherry Street Pier Artist and Artisans Market is back for its 2021 season, and Philadelphians are invited to once again enjoy the open-air marketplace.
The Artist and Artisans Market also offers an opportunity to support local artists and entrepreneurs throughout the City of Brotherly Love, which is especially important now—during a time when many are struggling due to the pandemic.
The Philly favorite maker-market is kicking off its season this Friday with an exciting list of participating vendors, including FATRU, Maker Missya, Emaye Design, Yuri Fox Leather, Native Sun Companies, The Random Tea Room, Nyambi Naturals LLC, Baby Got Good, and Art by Alicia L.
The market is open twice a month—on the first Friday and third Sunday—through Nov. 21. Food vendors on site will also be open with safety measures in place. And in accordance with the City of Philadelphia and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania guidelines, everyone is required to wear a mask and social distance at all times.
In addition to the local treasures courtesy of the market, art enthusiasts can also catch a glimpse of John Schlesinger’s exhibition, “After the Fall,” which is on display at the Pier through March 31. Schlesinger, an award-winning photographer turned sculptor, has work featured in permanent collections throughout the country. His latest exhibition examines loss and renewal through recycled materials.
The Cherry Street Pier Artist and Artisans Market, located at 121 N. Christopher Columbus Blvd., is open on the first Friday of the month from 4 to 9 p.m. and the third Sunday of the month from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit cherrystreetpier.com
