For those Philadelphians heading to the shore this weekend, Chickie’s & Pete’s is helping make your drive a lot more fun.
Home of the Philly-favorite Crabfries, Chickie’s & Pete’s is teaming up once again with the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) and the Atlantic City Expressway for Free Toll Friday.
Chickie’s and Pete’s will pay both cash and EZ Pass tolls for all drivers at the Eastbound Egg Harbor, New Jersey Toll Plaza Exit this Friday, May 23, for an entire hour, between 4 and 5 p.m.
“Free Toll Friday is one of my favorite summertime traditions,” said Chickie’s & Pete’s Chairman and CEO Pete Ciarrocchi. “We’re excited to be back at Farley’s Plaza hosting one of our favorite annual events this year. We love to send everyone off to the shore in good spirits before a big holiday weekend.”
Also on Friday, Chickie’s and Pete’s will host a countdown with family fun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Farley Service Plaza on the Atlantic City Expressway (Milepost 21.3). Attendees will receive a free order of Crabfries, and can enjoy an outdoor car show and 100 Days of Summer celebration, featuring vendors, artists and exhibitors, (including The Funny Farm rescue sanctuary, New Jersey State Police K9 dog team, Atlantic City International Airport Fire and Rescue Equipment), and more.
WIP Sports Radio and WPHT 1210 Talk Radio will also be on-site for live, remote broadcasts, and their radio personalities will be on the scene to give out prizes to lucky winners.
Chickie’s is also bringing back their “Patriot Punch” promotion, where a portion of all proceeds will be donated to The Patriot Fund when you order Chickie’s “Patriot Punch” cocktail this Memorial Day Weekend. For more information on The Patriot Fund and to donate, visit patriotfundinc.org.
“My dad and my uncles were all in the military,” said Ciarrocchi. “In fact, my Uncle George, who was my restaurant mentor, won the Silver Star for bravery. He was quite the guy, and I couldn’t think of a better way to honor him.”
