In a press conference Wednesday morning, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly commented on, and seemingly tried to clarify comments made by cornerback Cary Williams following Philly’s 48-30 loss last Sunday.

“I don’t think any loss is a good thing, but I think that you can learn from the situation that you’re in and that’s a very valid point,” Kelly said to reporters. “Losses happen, wins happen, and you’ve got to learn from all of your experiences and then get ready for your next game. You just learn from every situation that you’re in.

On Tuesday, Williams said the double-digit setback in Minnesota was a wake-up call, and that the team “needed to get knocked off,” so that they would have the opportunity to get better.

Kelly agreed Wednesday, saying, “There are a lot of different things that we can learn.”

But with the biggest game of the season looming Sunday against the Bears (8:30 p.m., NBC), it is time for the Eagles to perform, not learn.

“It’s a huge challenge,” Kelly said of taking on the 8-6 Bears, a team also looking to win their division. “When you look at this game and everything is so close, there’s not one factor that you can overlook. The game may be determined on special teams. That’s a big point of emphasis for us, but it’s always been a big point of emphasis for us.”

Another facet of the Eagles’ game plan that will be emphasized is the run game. LeSean McCoy, who led the NFL in rushing heading into the Vikings game, had only eight rushes for 38 yards. The dynamic back told reporters he wanted the ball a lot more under the lights in Sunday night’s home finale.

“I feel like this game, I want to put the offense on my back,” McCoy said. “I want to roll. I want to get going.
