‘A Christmas Carol Comedy’ at Hedgerow Theatre

Now extended to Dec. 30, the classic show has some tickets available for times this weekend (though you should check their site for full availability.) This fan-favorite production features playwright Katie Leamen’s “fun and festive” adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol’ directed by Pete Pryor featuring performing veterans and regional favorites Brian Anthony Wilson and Christopher Patrick Mullen.

The show follows the popular Charles Dickens tale featuring Ebeneezer Scrooge as he’s visited by three ghosts around Christmas time. Brian Anthony Wilson will be stepping into the role of Scrooge, while Christopher Patrick Mullin will step into the role of well, everyone else. Tickets run for $20-35, plus fees, and are available online.

As the release notes, the show also includes a lobby display featuring an exhibit of winter-themed artwork by students from the School in Rose Valley, pre-show gatherings and receptions, plus music in the lobby by folk duo “Last Chance” and other musicians throughout the run.

Tinseltown is back in 2023, but this time at FDR Park with some new activations like the ice trail, where guests can glide through a “breathtaking display of lights”, aka, go ice skating through a 13,000-square-foot trail of lit-up winter-themed decorations. The team at Tinseltown has also brought back all the favorite attractions of previous years, like the ice slide, the light-up dance floor, Union Forge Tinsel Lodge, Reading Room with Mrs. Claus, photos with Santa, Gritty appearances and much more.

As a release states, as guests stroll the brand-new layout of this illuminated wonderland in the park, they will find larger-than-life sculptures, including a 60-foot light tunnel, glowing baubles, and even Santa’s sleigh. Tinseltown will also showcase some of Philadelphia’s most beloved landmarks and personalities in lights, and along the way you’ll find a massive, walk-through Liberty Bell, illuminations representing Philly sports teams, and a few more holiday-inspired jawns.
