City running in fits and starts under four inches of snow

Public schools are closed and some offices are on a delayed opening after the heaviest snowfall of the winter hit Philly overnight.

In Philadelphia, the School District of Philadelphia and all Archdiocesan schools are closed due to the snow.

Municipal offices are still open, even though they closed last month for the 1.6-inch dusting that was forecast as a blizzard.

Temple, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel, St. Joseph’s, Community College of Philadelphia and Swarthmore are all opening late today. Villanova University is closed.

Approximately 430 trucks have been dispatched around the region by PennDOT to plow streets for drivers.

All public offices in Montgomery, Chester Delaware and Camden counties are opening on a two-hour delay due to the snow.

State and government offices in New Jersey don’t open until 11 a.m. State and government offices in Delaware are closed for the day.

SEPTA reported that it is on a normal schedule, but is experiencing delays throughout the system.

All Regional Rails are seeing 20 minute delays.

CCT transit is operating with delays of up to an hour. Passengers are advised to call CCT at 215-580-7145 to inquire about pending trips.

The Market-Frankford Line is making all A-B stops due to the extreme cold.

SEPTA Bus 35, which runs through Roxborough and Manayunk, has been suspended due to road conditions.

The following SEPTA buses are on detour: 14, 18, 27, 38, 44, 52, 58, 95, 97, 103, 107, 115, 120, 123, 126, G, H and XH.

South Jersey is reportedly still being snowed on, but sunshine is moving in over the Philadelphia area.

PATCO is operating on a snow schedule with trains scheduled every 15 minutes until 2 p.m.
