A couple were arrested after they allegedly shot at a man and set him on fire Wednesday morning in West Philadelphia, authorities said.
Officers responded just after 10:30 a.m. to the 5400 block of Lansdowne Avenue for a report of a person screaming inside an apartment, according to the PPD.
Investigators said a man fired at least one bullet in the direction of the 40-year-old victim before a woman set him on fire. Medics took the man to Jefferson University Hospital, where he was in critical condition with burns to his body, authorities said.
Police immediately arrested two suspects – a 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man. They have not been publicly identified, and authorities have not provided information about what led up to the attack.
