Authorities are investigating the murder of a couple in their West Powelton apartment this evening.
Police responded to a second-floor apartment on the 30 block of North Wiota Street shortly before 9:30 p.m.
They found a black man in his late 40s or early 50s with a gunshot wound to the head and a black female in her early 40s with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not yet released the couple’s identities.
