Crafts and Fine Art Festival: Details on Haddonfield’s creative extravaganza

Over in Haddonfield this weekend, there will be two days jam-packed with creative makers and unique finds with the return of the Crafts and Fine Art Festival.

Now in its 30th year, the activation will take over the charming New Jersey town to showcase 200 artists from the region and beyond. The outdoor event, sponsored by Subaru, will be held Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The selection of finds will span ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, fiber, paper, drawings, paintings, photography, and wearable art. Live music and local retailers will also overtake the festival’s footprint in town, which spans Kings Highway between Washington Avenue and Haddon Avenue and along Tanner Street to Euclid Avenue.

Families can also head to Kings Court where the Markheim Arts Center will have a make-and-take craft station for kids. There will also be face painters in attendance, plus Morgan & Olivia’s Unique Boutique Slime Shop will offer their own slime for purchase so they can take it home and make their own creation.

A new facet for the festival this year comes in the form of an Emerging Artists Area (also on Kings Court) that includes student glass blowers from Salem Community College, student ceramics artists from Camden County College, and Markheim pottery students. 

As a release notes, the Crafts and Fine Art Festival was started 30 years ago by Barbara Boroff, owner of Renaissance Craftables. Now passed down as a family business, daughter-in-law Maria Veneziano is the lead organizer in conjunction with the Partnership for Haddonfield.

“It’s a testament to the incredible artists and crafters and the residents of South Jersey and the tri-state area that this show has had such longevity,” Veneziano says in a statement.

Festival fans will also recognize some familiar favorites: Friday and Evangeline Nelson of Go Ahead…Make My Ring from Newark, Delaware; Gretchen Hulse of Crescent Moon Clothing from West Chester, PA; and Lana Heckendorn Ceramics from Carlisle, PA will be in attendance with decades of experience for this exact event.

Subaru of Cherry Hill will have the new 2025 Subaru Forester on display as well, and they will also be sponsoring an on-site pet rescue from Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter.
