The Walnut Street bridge remains closed this morning and first responders are on the scene after a two-car collision sent a pedestrian off the bridge, dropping 60 feet onto the highway below.
Pedestrians were barred from passing on the Walnut Street bridge as fire and rescue kept the accident scene sealed off.
The accident occurred when a Mercury Montego headed south on 30th Street struck a Toyota Camry headed west on the Walnut Street bridge, ABC reported.
One of the two cars then struck the male victim, reportedly in his 20s, and sending him flying off the bridge onto the highway below.
The victim was reportedly taken to the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in critical condition. The driver of the Montego was reportedly also brought to the hospital with some injuries.
