Two men were killed in separate shootings that occurred in broad daylight Wednesday in Philadelphia.
Authorities responded at around 12:45 p.m. to the 3100 block of Clifford Street in Strawberry Mansion, where they found a 33-year-old man who had been shot in his neck and back, police said. He died a short time later at Temple University Hospital.
Earlier, just before 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, someone shot a 24-year-old man multiple times on the 1200 block of S. Bucknell Street in South Philadelphia, according to investigators. He succumbed to his injuries at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Neither victim was publicly identified, and no arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of the shootings, police said.
Through Tuesday, 314 people had been killed this year in Philadelphia, 19% fewer than on the same date in 2022, according to police data.
