Del. native killed by bomb in Uganda

Nate Henn was anything but a stereotypical 25-year-old, so it was no surprise to many friends when he volunteered to join a mission to help children soldiers in Uganda.

Family and friends remembered Henn yesterday after he was killed Sunday in a bombing that claimed the lives of 74 people. Advocacy group Invisible Children released a statement that said Henn was killed by a blast that ripped through a rugby field where hundreds had gathered to watch the World Cup Final.

Al-Shabab, an al-Qaida-linked Somali militant group, claimed responsibility for the attacks, according to reports.

“Nate … was always a fun-loving kind of guy, but the greatest part about him was he cared about everyone he knew, and didn’t know,” friend Jesse Newcomb said.

“He was always very positive, and very happy and just drew people to him,” his former boss Pam Kennedy said.
