DePaul’s Table brings food, family and economic stability to the Main Line

Just outside of the city limits, the Main Line has been shaking off the dust of the pandemic and has seen a surge of restaurant openings right off of the heels of Ardmore Restaurant Week— and now the area can add another notch to their newly opened belt.

Restaurant veteran Anthony DePaul recently opened his latest concept on the Main Line, DePaul’s Table: Modern Italian Steakhouse, and last week the opening saw foodies and Philadelphians alike checking out the eatery. According to the release, DePaul, formerly from The Chophouse, Marc Forgione’s American Cut Steakhouse and Borgata, will bring a pedigree of industry insight and knowledge to this exciting new concept. DePaul aims to bring back the long lost art form of the Maitre D’ with elevated customer service and extra attention to detail. While the pandemic may have changed the state of dining for months and maybe years to come, DePaul and his team look to bring back all the things we have missed this last year about an “exceptional dining experience.”

“I want DePaul’s Table to reflect the values that I’ve come to love and adore from my 20+ years’ experience in restaurants: there is nothing more important to me than top-notch service, the freshness of ingredients, and a dedication to our food and drink offerings,” said DePaul in a statement. “Ardmore is a community filled with diverse tastes, wants, and needs. I look forward to encompassing myself in the local neighborhood while adding to the numerous contributions that Ardmore continues to maintain as it grows and expands its restaurant offerings.”

The establishment, which is taking over the former historic home of Haverford Trust Bank, will have Executive Chef Jose Galicia (The Chophouse) helming the kitchen. Diners can look forward to the classic but timeless offerings like Italian flavors, fine cuts of steak, big chops, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, big salads, savory flatbreads and fresh-made desserts. On top of the cuts of meat, which have their own no-fuss more-taste way of being prepared, diners can also indulge in big salads with proteins, a crab cake sandwich, DePaul’s Table Burger, flatbreads, pastas and more. DePaul’s Table will offer a kids menu with pasta, chicken fingers, and other family-friendly selections as well.

The bar in the 190-seat eatery will also boast a variety of flavors in the form of hand-crafted cocktails including the whiskey-based classic: The Cedar Planked Smoked Old Fashioned, which honors the spirit of the old school steakhouse with smoke and a giant round cube done tableside. The release also states that DePaul’s Table will offer social hour for visitors to enjoy one, two or three times a week with food and drink specials. Running daily, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., look for filet tips, flatbreads, oysters rockefeller, salmon nachos and more, starting at $5 and up. For beverages, look for domestic, craft and imported beer specials, wine specials and featured social hour cocktails.

“DePaul’s Table represents family, friends, guests, great food, well-made drinks and good times. Personally, for me and my wife, Tina whom we are the proud parents of four sons (Anthony, Dante, Roman and Franco) and everything happens at the ‘Table.’ In a world of hustle and bustle and both working full time jobs we always find time to sit down and talk/catch up on everything around the table. We talk about school, sports, reminisce all over a nice meal and some drinks. Some of the best times and memories happen around the table at my home. I want DePaul’s table to be a place where our guests can feel at home and share their own memories and experiences together. I wanted to create a place I would be proud of and that I could see my own family enjoying,” continues DePaul in his statement.

DePaul’s Table will launch with an estimated 30-35 part-time positions and 8-10 full-time positions. Once up and running, with the addition of expanded hours, lunch and brunch, there will reportedly then be 30-40 part-time positions and 12-15 full-time positions. This helps with the resurgence of the Main Line area, which also recently experienced the opening of Lola’s Garden in Suburban Square just weeks ago, plus Blue Pearl Cafe (by The Juice Dr.), Sophie’s BBQ and Autana.

The added businesses, jobs and foot traffic in a safe environment breathes a little more life into the Philly suburb after a long year of waiting…And you can tell the area is more than ready to reap the benefits of 2021.

“Professionally, DePaul’s Table is significant because each guest that walks through the doors will be treated as if they are guests at my table in my home. There is nothing more satisfying than walking through a busy dining room and seeing guests enjoying themselves around the table. Where I think I elevate the experience is through developing relationships with my guests. I want to know their favorite dishes, wines, table preferences, birthdays, kids’ names. I want them to not only have my cell phone number but to use it to let me create the perfect experience for them. I want guests to know if it’s a busy weekend night they can text me. I will take care of them. That’s the culture I will create at DePaul’s Table.”
