J. Fusco for VISIT PHILADELPHIA

It’s almost Fourth of July in Philly, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate.

Wawa Welcome America 2023 will host a Celebration of Freedom ceremony on July 4 featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence, the presentation of the Mayor’s Magis Award, Wawa Foundation Hero Award and The Celebrate Freedom Award presented by Freedom Mortgage, as well as musical performances by the Black Pearl Orchestra at 10 a.m. at Independence Mall.

Then the party moves to the Parkway, where Grammy nominated and award-winning musician, actor, advocate, and author Demi Lovato will perform, as well as the Grammy award-winning artist Ludacris. The concert will begin on the main stage at 7 p.m.

Prior to the main show, Philadelphians and visitors can enjoy a collaborative performance by DJ Diamond Kuts and Snacktime on the Pennsylvania Lottery Groove Stage on the Parkway, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Gates open at 4 p.m. All guests must enter at Logan Circle at 20th Street through the secure checkpoint.

The concert is free and open to the public. Fireworks will follow the show.
