Did LeSean McCoy tell Frank Gore not to come to Philly?

There was something shady last night, when Frank Gore walked away from a potential three-year deal that would make him the new featured running back for the Eagles.

And perhaps it was due to Shady McCoy.

Apparently, LeSean McCoy, after being shocked by his trade to the Bills, spoke with Gore, a friend of his who was mulling a career move by signing in Philadelphia.

“I was honest with him,” McCoy said in an NFL Network Interview.”I told him he would get the ball a lot, Chip is a mastermind.I was honest with him … for the most part.”

McCoy joked a bit, insinuating that he might have thrown dirt on Chip Kelly and the Eagles before walking back a bit.

“Everything I said to him was positive,” McCoy said. He finally said that Gore made his own decision, one that will see him earn $8.5 million guaranteedin Indianapolis (along with former Eagles Todd Herremans and Trent Cole).

Earlier in the afternoon, when being announced as the Bills’ new golden boy with a big shiny new contract, McCoy opened by saying he was happy “to finally feel appreciated.”

He told NFL Network anchors, upon finding out about the trade, that “I thought at least if he was going trade me…just let me know, I mean, as a man.”

Clearly he is not happy about the trade, despite the centerpiece role in Buffalo and the $16 million he will earn in 2015.

He grew up in Harrisburg, went to college at Pitt and was drafted by the Eagles. This stint with Buffalo will be his first out of the state of Pennsylvania.

McCoy led the league in rushing in 2013, and leads all running backs in carries and rushing yards over the past five seasons.
