A GoFundme page created to collect funds for the family of wounded officer Jesse Hartnett has surpassed its goal of $15,000 just a day after being created.

“We are grateful that he survived the attack, but he has been left seriously wounded. His road to recovery will be long, but he has the heart of a fighter.Jesse will need all the help that he can get,” states theGoFundme page, started by a Hartnett’s former Coast Guard shipmate.

On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Police Department released new information from the investigation into Archer and his statement’s to police that his attack was inspired by ISIS.

Police said that a citizen Saturday made contact with an officer on the street who provided information that the shooter in this case, Edward Archer, was in fact affiliated with a radical group.

“The citizen alleged the defendant had an affiliation to a group with radical belief,” the police department said. “The department along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation is actively investigating these allegations in an effort to verify the credibility of the information given.”

TheInquirer reported that the tipster said Archer was one a group with three other individuals, and said, “The threat to police is not over.”

Police previously released surveillance footage stills that they said showArcher running up to Hartnett’s car, parked at the corner of 60th and Spruce streets around 11:40 p.m. on Thursday night, before firing in at Hartnett through the window.

Hartnett sustained three gunshot wounds to the arm and one to the buttocks.

Despite being shot, Hartnett was able to push his door open and give chase to Archer while firing. Other officers assisted in pursuing and arresting Archer.

Archer, who is charged with attempted murder, told detectives he shot Harnettfor Islam and because he was inspired by ISIS, but there have been no reports of specific links between Archer and ISIS.

Archer traveled to the Middle East twice in recent years, to Egypt and once to Saudia Arabia.

Jacob Bender, executivedirector of the Philadelphia chapter of theCouncil on American-Islamic Relations said Friday their group had found no signs Archer actively participated in the local Muslim community.

“At this hour, it does not appear that he was an observant or mosque-going Muslim,” he said.“I’ve called numerous imams and mosques to try to see if the name rings a bell with anyone. So far it hasn’t.”

CAIR did not respond immediately to requests for any update on Archer’s Philly ties.
