Authorities are searching for a driver who walked away after a 16-year-old passenger in his car was killed in a crash Monday night on Roosevelt Boulevard in Feltonville.
Investigators said a Kia – which had previously been reported as stolen – was speeding at around 11:45 p.m. in the center northbound lanes of the Boulevard when the driver ignored a red light and smashed into the back of a 2006 Honda.
The teenage boy was ejected from the car, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene, according to authorities.
Police said the Honda driver was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle and flee the scene, and investigators said he was last seen walking north on the Boulevard.
