Drug raid nabs dozens of dealers

Philly police made 60 arrests during a drug raid on Thursday in Kensington — following 240 arrests so far in the neighborhood this year.

The raids Thursday nabbed 40 buyers and 20 sellers, police said.

“This area was selected due to its high volume of open air drug sales,” police said. “In addition, areas of east division are heavily traveled by dozens of school children and parents on a daily basis, who must take their journey through these drug riddled neighborhoods.”

The officers hit the following blocks: 300 E. Somerset Street, 100 W. Cambria Street, 2900 Rosehill Street, 100 E. Somerset Street and 2900 N. Waterloo Street.
