1 McNabb’s last stand?

With controversy swirling around Donovan McNabb and his job security, this could be the last time we see No. 5 as the starting QB for the Redskins — maybe in the NFL.

McNabb’s 76.0 rating is his worst since 1999. And he’s thrown more interceptions (8) than TDs (7), something that has long been one of his strong suits.

It’s no secret that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan hasn’t been enamored with McNabb’s play. If he struggles again, don’t be surprised to see the quarterback pouting on the bench.

2 Running their mouths.

The last time these two met — a 17-12 Redskins’ win — the Eagles had no answer for the running game (169 yards), as Ryan Torain literally ran over defensive backs.

Not this time.

Eagles defensive coordinator Sean McDermott chewed out his defense. This week, he has had the game tape on loop in the film room. His message? “We don’t want to look like this no more.”

3 Protecting Vick

Michael Vick didn’t get to play very long on Oct. 3, leaving in the first quarter with a rib injury. He’s back now and pretty close to 100 percent, but that doesn’t mean he needs to fly around like Superman.

There were several times last week when Vick could have slid or scampered out of bounds. Instead, he took the hit and picked up the extra yardage. The offensive line has been criticized for giving up too many sacks, but they can’t protect Vick from himself.

“I don’t know how to slide, so I won’t get into that right now,” Vick said last week. “I either get down, I go head first or dive or just fall.”
