Prior to last season, the Eagles weren’t very familiar with four-game losing streaks. Now they are nasty habits.
Andy Reid has lost four straight games in consecutive seasons after Monday night’s debacle. The Eagles appear to be quitting on a head coach fighting for his job — at least that’s what it looks like on the surface. Behind closed doors, Reid insists that isn’t the case.
“Absolutely,” Reid said, when asked if he can turn it around. “I like these players and what they represent. And the coaches, we’ve just got to put it together, play as one, and we’ll be there.”
Despite poor tackling, even worse blocking and questionable play-calling, the Eagles believe they can fix it.
“They’re a close bunch and they’ve got good character. They fight,” Reid said. “They battled through last year. Again, it was too late but they battled through and ended up winning some games. I would expect them to continue to battle through and good things will happen.”
