Eagles back to work after bye

The Eagles are back to work after enjoying a much-needed bye week.

The team reported to the NovaCare Complex yesterday and participated in an informal practice. The atmosphere was more casual than usual, but three important things happened: Brandon Graham (knee) was back on the field, along with Jason Peters (hamstring) and Trent Cole (calf). The first-team offensive line included Peters, Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, Danny Watkins and Todd Herremans.

“Everybody seemed refreshed, happy to be back, excited,” quarterback Mike Vick said. “We were bouncing around out there today, and had a good practice. We’re excited to be back, ready to go.”

Graham, last year’s No. 1 draft pick, hasn’t played since tearing up his knee last December against Dallas. While he’s unlikely to play this week, the Eagles want to see how far along Graham is before deciding whether to place him on injured reserve or keep him on the roster. The team has three weeks to make that decision.

“They’re going to watch me this week [and] hopefully I can get out there this week,” Graham said. “I’m going to push myself and do extra.”

Graham said he ran about 15 plays at yesterday’s practice.

“I feel good,” he said. “I know that I have to get my wind up a little bit and as I play in the games it will get better.”

Corner of concern?

Asante Samuel might feel underappreciated right now, but he’s still the starter at left cornerback.
