Andy Reid is a creature of habit.
So, with no game on the Eagles’ schedule this weekend, it really wasn’t a shock when he revealed that his players would have the entire week off. It’s something the coach has done consistently in his 12-plus seasons here.
“I want them to get away and take a deep breath and get their bodies and minds back where they’re able to relax,” Reid said yesterday. “I have them out of here until next Monday.”
Several Eagles players packed their belongings and headed for the exits, saying they were looking forward to enjoying some time off.
“We’re going to enjoy this victory and this bye week — and start the season all over again,” quarterback Mike Vick said.
Despite a disappointing 2-4 start this season, Reid believes the bye week has come at the perfect time.
“Sometimes, you have to take a step back to take a step forward,” Reid said.
