The Philadelphia Eagles plan to celebrate their 80th birthday with a Cabernet Sauvignon.
The team announced it will produce “Rollout,” a limited edition red wine, in commemoration of its 80 years in professional football. The bottle is a 2011 cabernet made from grapes pulled from mountainside vineyards in the Napa Valley and Dry Creek.
“We wanted a special way to celebrate the history of the franchise with our fans,” said Ari Roitman, Eagles Senior Vice President of Business, in a news release.
The wine will be sold throughout the Philadelphia region and in local South Jersey wine and spirits retailers. It will also be available on the club level and in suites at Lincoln Financial Field.
“Rollout” was the brainchild of winemaker Samuel Spencer and produced by Cameron Hughes Wine.
Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: California (65% Napa Valley, 35% Dry Creek)
