Former Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly becoming combative with police who found him passed out in a car that was blocking traffic, officials said.
On Monday, the Philadelphia Police Department announced Worley, 23, a North Philly native who attended William Penn Charter School and currently resides in Swedesboro NJ, would be charged with DUI, violation of the uniform firearms act and disorderly conduct.
Police got a call of a car blocking the roadway on the 1300 block of Pattison Avenue around 6 a.m. on April 15. When officers responded, they reportedly found Worley passed out in his car behind the wheel outside the Eagles’ NovaCare Complex. He allegedly became combative with officers, at which point they used a stun gun on him. A gun was also reportedly found at the scene.
Worley was traded to the Eagles from the Panthers in March. The team unceremoniously announced his removal from the team on Sunday, less than 12 hours after the arrest.
“Roster Move: #Eagles have released CB Daryl Worley,” they said.
