What do you get when you combine a bunch of revved up Eagles fans and dozens of people in their underwear on the Broad Street Subway? SEPTA police will soon find out.
On Sunday, a group called Urban Playground is organizing daring riders as part of “Annual No Pants Subway Ride,” which will also take place in New York. Passengers will board the subway, remove their pants and ride in their underwear.
The group plans to gather at City Hall around 3 p.m. — 90 minutes before the Eagles kickoff — and ride the train South before returning to City Hall and boarding the Market-Frankford Line.
At least 70 people say their plan to participate in the event, according to a Facebook page, with another 100 people possibly attending.
SEPTA spokeswoman Jerri Williams said pantless passengers are allowed and it does not expect problems.
“We are not anticipating any issues,” she said.
