Who should stay on the Eagles O-Line and who should go this offseason?

There are plenty of reasons why the Eagles and their fanbase should feel optimistic following their team’s defeat in Super Bowl LVII. The biggest, of course, is the return of franchise quarterback, Jalen Hurts and a plethora of key skill guys that will be key to the quarterback’s continued development.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t decisions to make.

With 20 free agents and a big extension looming for Jalen Hurts, general manager Howie Roseman will need to work out his priorities for the coming offseason. As we get closer to the start of NFL free agency, let’s take a look at who should stay and who should leave in regards to the offensive line.

Jason Kelce – Stay

Duh. If Kelce is to return for another season and continue his dominance as the greatest Eagles’ offensive lineman of all time, Howie Roseman needs to do whatever possible to make sure that happens. There’s really nothing else that needs to be said here: Kelce must be an Eagle for the rest of his career.

Isaac Seumalo – Go

The best way to decide what the Eagles should do with their starting guard is to look at what happened after the 2017 Super Bowl season. Halapoulivaati Vaitai did a great job during the season but got a massive contract elsewhere that the Eagles were never going to pay him. Seumalo is in that boat. Seumalo is a very good guard and had his best season last year. That being said, with the money he’ll get from a free-agent deal, it’s easy to see how he’s one of two starters on offense that won’t be back.

Andre Dillard – Go

Dillard would be a starter in over 2/3 of the league. He’s a good but not transcendent tackle like Jordan Mailata. Dillard, like Seumalo, will be getting a pretty hefty contract extension this year and it’s clear the Eagles aren’t going to pay him. He’ll be another first-round draft bust for a team that has nailed offensive line picks later in the draft.

Rick Lovato – Stay

Good long-snappers deserve to stay. Easy call.
