Eagles Injury Report: A.J Brown & Lane Johnson questionable for Sunday, DeVonta Smith out

After a week of uncertainty on the Eagles‘ injury report, the team ended the week with some positive news. Yesterday’s practice didn’t exactly present a Sunny forecast for the Birds, with 3 potential starters missing the first two days of practice. That changed on Friday.

Eagles injury report: Friday September 26th

After two weeks without A.J Brown, the Eagles might finally be getting their dominant #1 wideout back. Brown had missed two consecutive games with a niggling hamstring injury but was back at practice today with hopes of ramping up for Sunday’s game. This couldn’t come at a better time given how it’s like that DeVonta Smith will remain in concussion protocol for the time being.

With Britain Covey also out for around 6 weeks, Brown’s return is vital. The Eagles do have other options such as Parris Campbell and Jahan Dotson to fill the short-term void, but very few players in the NFL can provide what A.J gives to Hurts.

Lane Johnson technically returned to practice yesterday but didn’t partake in team reps. He was a limited participant in Friday’s action as he trends toward a return from concussion protocol. Fred Johnson did play well in the absence of Johnson last week, but getting one of the best tackles in the game back for this matchup would be huge for Philadelphia.

Elsewhere, everyone else on the injury report was a full participant on Friday, which means the offensive line is good to go and Darius Slay will be back in action at his rightful CB1 spot as he attempts to thwart the explosive Tampa Bay offense.

The Eagles will lock horns with the Buccaneers at Raymond James stadium on Sunday with hopes coming out of it with both a win and a cleaner bill of health.
