On Thursday, Dec. 19, Philadelphia Eagles rookie edge rusher Jalyx Hunt visited Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. When the school, which celebrated its 85th-anniversary last year, was in danger of a lost basketball season, Hunt stepped up and hand-delivered a significant contribution to sponsor the team for the entire year, saving the 2025 season for their basketball program.

“It was amazing,” Hunt told NBC 10 Philadelphia when asked what it means to help out. “It’s always in my blood to give back. That’s how I was raised and just the community and the environment I grew up in. So, any chance that I can find or get to give back, I reach out to the community and try to take it.”

As elated as Hunt was to support the next generation of local athletes, Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls was equally, if not more so, excited to have the opportunity for Hunt to come in and meet their student-athletes.

“Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls bleeds green,” said Kristie Dugan, president of Little Flower. “We are so proud of Jalyx and are excited to have a player to focus our attention on. We are so grateful he was able to shine a light on the needs of our LF community. The girls are determined to make him proud!”

This is far from the only time the Eagles rookie has supported local student athletics. Hunt had actually assembled a GoFundMe, using his platform to help raise even more funds and obtain athletic wear for local schools.

The very next day after Hunt visited Little Flower Catholic High School, he did his best Santa Claus impression at Frankford High School, supplying their varsity basketball team with custom duffel bags, backpacks, and sweat suits. Hunt also has plans to support Kensington High School this month.

Following the Eagles 20-13 victory over the New York Giants last Sunday, Hunt addressed the media from his locker.

No longer in uniform, Hunt was noticeably sporting a shirt that read ‘Little Flower Basketball.’ This is not the first time he has represented Little Flower Catholic High School away from the school. Hunt has also been seen entering the Philadelphia Eagles’ training facility sporting a Little Flower Catholic High School hoodie.

It’s fantastic whenever a local athlete decides to support the community, especially when they support the next generation of Philadelphians.

What’s special about the dedication that Jalyx Hunt has shown is that it transcends the moment. It shows that serving the community is about far more than a photo-op or good publicity for Hunt.

It’s evident by Hunt’s words, actions, and even wardrobe that the Eagles’ rookie is not only here to serve sacks to the opposition but also to support his new community whenever possible. After all, like he said, giving back is in his blood.
