The hits keep coming for the Philadelphia Eagles after their upset victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Rookie right tackle Jack Driscoll will miss the remainder of the 2020 season after suffering a significant MCL sprain, as first reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The fourth-round pick out of Auburn picked up the injury during the Week 14 triumph, but he managed to play the remainder of the game. Further tests this week, however, showed the full extent of the injury and forced the Eagles to shelf the 23-year-old for the rest of the year.
Driscoll appeared in 11 games this season, starting four including each of the last two. His work on the offensive line against the Saints allowed rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts to become the first player in 70 years to throw for at least 150 yards and rush for 100 in his first-ever start. Running back Miles Sanders also went off for 115 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles combined for 246 yards on the ground.
With Driscoll now out, the Eagles will be forced to trot out a 13th-different offensive line combination in 14 games this season.
The loss of their right tackle comes just one day after the Eagles learned that safety Rodney McLeod suffered a torn ACL and will also miss the rest of the 2020 season.
