Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and his wife Christina are back to going for the ever-elusive Oscar.
Jeffrey Lurie, who was a movie producer before he bought the Eagles in 1994, is executive producer along with his wife of the definitive documentary about the financial crash of 2008, “Inside Job.”
The next film from Screen Pass Productions will be co-produced with Angelina Jolie. Christiana Lurie, through her own production company, Vox3, has recently produced films starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Billy Baldwin. None of the Luries’ films have been particularly successful.
Director Charles Ferguson, who was previously nominated for an Academy Award for his documentary “No End in Sight,” raved about the Luries.
“I was introduced to Christina and Jeff through my lawyer John Sloss. They were fantastic to work with — helpful and encouraging without trying to interfere,” Ferguson said. “Christina Lurie, in particular, knew a considerable amount of people in the financial industry and she was very happy to introduce them to me.”
