The Eagles quarterback situation just got a lot more interesting.
The team signed Dennis Dixon to a two-year contract Thursday, a few days after restructuring Mike Vick’s deal. Dixon spent last season as a member of the Ravens’ practice squad. He has only played in four career games.
“We are excited to bring in Dennis Dixon to compete at the quarterback position,” said GM Howie Roseman. “Dennis is a veteran in this league that has been a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams in his career. He’s also very familiar with Chip Kelly and how he operates.”
Dixon, who starred for Chip Kelly while at Oregon, set a school record for a quarterback when he rushed for 1,208 yards in 2007. He also threw for 2,136 yards that season. Dixon, 28, finished his college career with 6,337 total yards and 38 passing touchdowns.
