The Eagles dished out some good news on Thursday morning, announcing that they have opened the 21-day practice window for Arryn Siposs.
The former AFL punter suffered a high ankle sprain back in December and missed the final four games of the season as a result. The Eagles were forced to sign Brett Kern as a free-agent, but the results have been understandably underwhelming.
Brett Kern is averaging 40.8 yards per punt. He’s 36 and has been in the league for a long time. He’s punching in career-lows right when the Eagles need every yard they can get. Siposs has been far from perfect, but his average punt goes 45.6 yards, and his net yardage is a hash under 40 yards.
Siposs recently told Fox Sports that he’s ‘good to go’ for the Super Bowl, in hopes of joining fellow Aussie, Jordan Mailata on the grandest stage of all.
“I’m not too sure (if I’ll play), all I can do is put my (best) foot forward and keep progressing really well in terms of the treatment and all the things they need me to do from a physical point of view and (hope) I find out sooner rather than later.”

The potential return of Siposs couldn’t come at a better time. If the Eagles can go into the Super Bowl with full confidence in their punter, it will definitely alleviate some stress from Nick Sirianni and Shane Steichen, knowing that they’re much better positioned to pin the Chiefs deep inside their own territory.
