Eagles OTA Dates: All you need to know ahead of spring practices

The Philadelphia Eagles are fresh off of a magnificent offseason. The NFL Draft is in the books, big free agents have been signed, and now the long wait for Training Camp begins. The good news is that we don’t have to wait long to see the newest Birds in the nest suiting up in midnight green thanks to OTA’s that are just around the corner.

What are OTA’s?

While Training Camp is still a few months away, OTA’s are on the horizon. The equivalent of the first week of school after Spring Break, OTA’s give teams a chance to slowly get their new signings up to speed, as well as set expectations for the year ahead. It’s the first time all offseason that most, if not all, of the entire team will be back in the same building since the end of last season, so it’s an important time given that the Eagles have rebuilt their coaching staff over the last few months.

Whether it’s helping new players like Saquon Barkley and Bryce Huff settle in, or allowing rookies to meet their new coaches and teammates and soak up their surroundings, OTA’s will be absolutely crucial for an Eagles team that looks poised for greatness in 2024.

Eagles OTA workout dates

OTA Offseason Workouts: May 30, June 1-2, June 5-6, June 8

Mandatory minicamp: June 4-6

What can we expect from OTA’s?

First and foremost, the Eagles will be hosting a Mandatory Minicamp this year. They avoided holding one for two straight seasons under Nick Sirianni, but given the coaching changes and a desire to get back to the top of the NFL totem pole, an increased spring workload makes sense. The entire offseason will be voluntary until this point.

The Birds, just like every other team, will have a limited number of OTA practices. These are lighter than what we’ll see in the summer, with no pads and a more relaxed setting, but we should still see plenty of 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 action down at the NovaCare Complex.

The OTA’s themselves are broken up into three phases: conditioning, smaller team drills, full team drills (no hitting).

Eagles OTA insights

We will be doing our best to bring you live insights from the NovaCare Complex as Eagles OTA’s progress. From underdogs shining bright to players who might need to pick it up over the summer, there is bound to be plenty to talk about, so make sure you stay locked in to Philly Sports Network.
