Eagles reunite with former offensive lineman Dennis Kelly

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with veteran offensive linemen Dennis Kelly according to a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Kelly, 33, spent his first three seasons with the Eagles after being drafted by them in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

General Manager Howie Roseman has never been shy about correcting mistakes. His latest move is another example of that.

Kelly is most well-known for being part of the trade that sent Dorial Green-Beckham to Philadelphia before the 2016 season, but played under Jeff Stoutland when he was a spot starter for Chip Kelly’s squad during the 2014-15 seasons.

In 10 seasons as a veteran offensive lineman, Kelly has started 54 games, appeared in 130, and has been a consistent depth piece for the Titans, Colts, and Packers over the last few seasons. Last season with the Colts he was graded out at an average score of 58.9 by Pro Football Focus.

For his second run in Philadelphia, Kelly will be competing for a roster spot with other backup offensive linemen like Sua Opeta, and Tyler Steen. He provides a veteran presence to what has become a younger core of backup linemen following the free-agent departures of Isaac Seumalo and Andre Dillard.

The full contract details have not been made public at this time.
