Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts celebrates after scoring on a 1-yard run during the second half of an NFL football game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, in Kansas City, Mo.
The Philadelphia Eagles have officially secured their spot in the postseason.
Not that it was ever really in doubt as a 10-win team, but Philly walked into Week 15 needing the Falcons to lose to the Bucs, and the Packers to lose to the Giants in order to officially cement their status as a playoff team. Both of those scenarios happened on Sunday, giving both the Eagles and the Cowboys a ticket to the postseason.
The good news is that the Cowboys also lost to the Bills, giving the Birds temporary reign over the NFC East once more.
So it’s ironic that the Eagles find themselves trapped in a noisy media frenzy having made a switch at defensive coordinator following two blowout losses.
Whether or not that decision was the right one remains to be seen. All we know for certain is that the Eagles are officially playoff bound.
