Eagles fans flocked to the streets of Philadelphia following the Birds’ Super Bowl victory on Sunday night. While most of the celebrations were tame, police reported arrests and citations, as well as people unscrewing and pulling down traffic posts.
Despite the city’s efforts to deter people from climbing light poles, there were still a few who did. Fans were also seen climbing bus stop shelters and dump trucks.
Police said at least 29 citations, nine arrests, and eight instances of vandalism occurred in total.
Incidents varied from disorderly conduct to alleged assaults on officers — which led to five arrests and one additional incident — and beyond. Some fans burnt linens near 12th and Market streets as they celebrated into early Monday.
Authorities said in addition to the arrests related to the alleged assaults on officers; four other people were arrested over the course of the Super Bowl victory celebration: one for reckless endangerment, two aggravated assault arrests, and another individual for disorderly conduct.

The eight counts of vandalism included four sanitation department trucks and four businesses located on Walnut Street — Santander Bank, Free People Store, Chase Bank, and Brooks Brothers.
Authorities have not provided information on the identities of the suspects, nor did they provide further information on the events that happened during the Super Bowl victory celebrations in the city overnight. The incidents are still under investigation, authorities said.
