Eagles swap Brown for Harrison

The Eagles re-acquired RB Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed draft pick in 2013 Tuesday from the Detroit Lions in exchange for RB Ronnie Brown. The league’s trading deadline ended at 4 p.m.

Harrison was originally sent to the Eagles in a 2010 trade with Cleveland last October. Despite rushing for 239 yards on 40 carries, the team let Harrison go via free agency. Apparently, the Eagles decided they needed a more reliable backup for LeSean McCoy and brought him back into the nest.

Brown was basically a bust and had been used sparingly ever since he fumbled the ball at the goal line in the collapse against San Francisco. Last week, in Washington, rookie Dion Lewis got the goal line touches and spelled McCoy.

Anyway, welcome back, Jerome Harrison … and here’s a tribute to Ronnie Brown’s Eagle legacy …
